Enjoying the crisp autumn air

It was an eventful past weekend at VCSU. Several athletic teams were in action, while prospective students attended Viking Visit Day.

Volleyball hosted rival, University of Jamestown on Friday evening. Unfortunately, the Vikings were swept in 3. The Vikings redeemed themselves Saturday though when they hosted Dickinson, whom the Vikings swept in 3.

The Viking football team kept the Paint Bucket where it belongs after a thrilling 12-6 victory over Jamestown. Saturday’s game was the 116th meeting all time between the two teams. VCSU leads the all time series. The Vikings also lead the Paint Bucket series 37-30, and will now kept to keep the Paint Bucket throughout the off-season.

Hard to believe, but basketball season has arrived as well. The Viking men downed Oglala Lakota College on Saturday with an impressive score of 128-52. On Sunday, the women hosted Brandon University. The Viking women were able to pull through, 57-54, to start their season off on a victory.

Approximately 15prospective students came for Viking Visit Day on Saturday. Students were able to tour campus and meet with faculty in their academic area of interest, as well as hear from President Tisa Mason.
