ND STEM Endorsement

Since 1995, the ND Education Standards and Practices board (ESPB) maintains responsibility of teacher licensure, teacher education program approval, professional development and professional practices in North Dakota.  This board operates independent of State funding with a board of ten educators, administrators, school board members, and teacher educators, with appointments made by the Governor for two 3-year terms.

The ESPB board offers a professional endorsement in STEM education to K-12 teachers in North Dakota.  Upon completion this endorsement would demonstrate:

  • competency in strategies that engage minds
  • passion for facilitating effective learning strategies
  • your signature on a commitment to develop the workforce of the future

The Great Plains STEM Education Center worked with the ESPB to establish this 12 credit program in selected content areas.  To earn the endorsement, teachers can utilize course credit previously earned alongside graduate and undergraduate courses at VCSU and/or through professional development workshops that you have or will participate in.
